William James Sopko, US Army (Ret.)

William James Sopko age 78 of Clarksville, passed away on Thursday May 18, 2017 at Tennova Health Care in Clarksville. 

He was born January 27, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late George Andrew Sopko and Veronica Sopko. 

Mr. Sopko served his country in the U. S. Army for over 20 years, in which he served two tours in Vietnam. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star and Master Paratrooper. 

He is survived by his wife Christel Rollins Sopko of Clarksville; three sons, David Sopko of Hendersonville, TN; Michael Sopko of Clarksville; and George Sopko of Tampa, FL. As well as two step-children; six grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and one great grandchild. He is also survived by a sister Rosemary Benesh of Cleveland, OH. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers John, Ray, and George Sopko. 

There was no public funeral services.
